FUSIONART is an elegant blend of stone, steel, brass, glass or wood creatively melded into unique pieces of sculpture, sometimes in association with other artisans. Using Oamaru stone as the core element, I create a wide range of sculpture in both traditional and conceptual styles for both indoor and outdoor sites.
I was born in Holland in 1948. Emigrated to New Zealand in 1952. Married a kiwi girl, raised two kiwi kids and now have four kiwi grandkids. I spent my working life as a Medical Scientist and am now in the "third age", releasing a long dormant family art gene by way of sculpture.
While on as sculpture course run through NMIT by Lydia Geldof in 2003, she challenged me with the question, "Why are you not an artist?". I have been answering that question ever since.
I am currently number 8 on the Artists of Marlborough circuit at my studio/sculpture garden at 41 New Renwick Road.
I have also been Artist-in-Residence at Forrest Estate Winery since 2008, where many of my works are on display. The winery is open daily all year from 10am till 4.30pm. All works are available for sale through the Cellar Door.
